Important Interim News Update

Dear All

Please see below a few items that cannot wait until the next full news update.

Village Day 26th September – Cancelled

Sadly it has been decided that the proposed village Funday will not take place at the end of September. The big concern is the weather, because although there will be two marquees to shelter under if it is raining, it probably won’t be that warm and the field events would not be able to take place. So apologies for cancelling.

However on the subject of village days, we have committed to hold an event for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend  4-5 June 2022, which will be a celebration for residents in the village and the rest of the parish, PLUS friends and relatives who want to attend.  This will be on a bigger scale along the lines of previous street parties and might even include a mini beer festival.

So this will be something everyone can look forward to and plan to be in the village at the beginning of June.

Hunt Kennels Open Day this Sunday 2-4pm

I have been asked by Gareth Bow, The Huntsman, to publicise that there will be an impromptu ‘open house’ at the Kennels this Sunday from 2pm to 4pm for everyone in the village and the wider Parish. There is no entry charge and there will be a pay bar & BBQ.

For those new in the community it is a great opportunity to see the stables and premises up close and  meet some of the hounds face to face.

Please note that on this occasion NO DOGS allowed.

Stratton Audley Church service this Sunday

A service with Holly Communion will be held in the church  this Sunday, 22nd August at 9.30am. For more information visit http://www.shelswellparishes.info/services.php
