Local Groups

The Historical Society. The group usually meet every two months on the first Tuesday at 7.30 pm in the Red Lion. For more details click here and for the next meeting visit the Event Calendar page.

The 100 Club. This is the village monthly lottery organised by Maggie Woodward who can be contacted on 01869 277214. It costs  just £10 a year for 10 chances to win, with prizes of £30, £20 & £10.  You can buy more than one subscription if you wish. All money after deducting the prize fund is donated to good causes or used for specific purchases for the village.

Singing for Fun. Come along and have fun at our singing sessions on usually held on alternate Mondays at 1.30pm in Stratton Audley Church during term time.  Meet our lovely singing teacher, professional singer Amanda Frater, who allows us to sing a huge repertoire of songs, ranging from show stoppers, current hits, 60’s and beautiful songs from all over the world. She also teaches us exercises to improve our breathing and other aspects of singing technique but in a fun way!  Singing is good for your mind body and soul. It will lift your mood and enhance physical well being.

Only £4 per session including tea and biscuits but come and have a free trial. No experience necessary and everyone is welcome to join this friendly informal group.

Check the Events Calendar for dates. Alternatively call Amanda on 01869 249943 or email her at musikids@hotmail.co.uk fto confirm the date of the next meeting.

Shelswell WI.

Shelswell W.I. was formed in 1990, by a small group of local women who decided there was a need for a WI to cater for younger women.  We continue to attract a younger age group and those young at heart, who prefer a more relaxed, informal atmosphere.  Members come from all the surrounding Shelswell villages and also from Bicester.

We are a friendly, lively group of women from varied backgrounds who enjoy a monthly get together to hear a speaker and socialise with friends.

The group meets on the first Thursday of each month at 8pm in Fringford Village hall (unless stated otherwise)

It’s a great way to meet new people and make new friends. We’d love to see you.

Visitors may come for two complimentary meetings and then are invited to join and become fully paid up members.

Just come to the next meeting or for further information contact Linda Mustill on 01869 277577

Coffee Morning. An informal group meets every Tuesday at 11 am in the Red Lion to chat for an hour or so and regular attendance is between 10 & 20 people. It costs just £1.50 to cover coffee and biscuits. Every second Tuesday there is a  lunch for this group specially organised by the pub at a fixed price of just £8.00 for a two course meal. The next lunch is on 27th October. For dates visit the Event Calendar page.

Marsh Gibbon Brownies. A number of girls attend this group from Stratton Audley and for more information please contact Rachel Dewhurst via email at Treehouse0@sky.com
